My mother and father passed away earlier this century. I’ve been doing genealogy and found a picture of a great grandmother who looks exactly like my mother. I also have found more details about my fathers family working at the toy company. Since their birthdays are in January and February, I figured I’d write a song for them. My father would have turned 100 in just over a week. My parents loved to dance The Jitterbug. I’d have so many questions now …..
I used the Cello to write a melody for my fledgling singing voice – in the right key and range and before anything else. I’ve never done this before. Consider this an experiment.
