Death of a Bar Keep

Step right up
Step inside
This is where
The bar keep died

He refused
A drunken man
With a pistol
In his hand

Both men drew
A duel to death
One stood over
The one who left

Bar keeps ghost
Haunted he
For all his days
In eternity

This song is not historical fact but my attempt at a simple Mark Twain (Samuel Clemons) style “Tall Tale” with simple lyrics set to music. Its totally plausible because in most mining towns men carried concealed weapons, and there are many stories of while being drunk, making bad decisions, some times deadly.
