There was this really cool old TV Repair storefront on Guerrero in the Mission in the 80’s. I thought it was kiddie corner to Cafe Babar – which I frequented often back then, which was at Guerrero and 23rd.
There was some goofy rumor that Philo T. Farnsworth – the father of TV – from San Francisco had something to do with this shop – but I sort of remember it was owned by an old hippy or other eccentric bugger.
My friend and band mate rented a room in the building above and that was an old dentist office complete with frosted glass doors with the dentists name on them.
For whatever reason, I have fondly remembered this silly photograph – it does mean a lot to me – now its “old San Francisco” and I was a part of it.
I wanted to write a song that is as “out there” as this store front display.
