Fine Art Photography and Time

I like the Wikipedia definition of Fine Art Photography – they basically say that someone who plans out a photographic composition is someone trying to create a fine art photograph. Its all about the intent to communicate a message or feeling via the medium.

When I look at fine art photography, I get an overwhelming sense of time and place. The fact that someone recorded a person place or thing that may be long gone adds quite a bit to any composition.

There can be layered meaning in a photographic composition – some of it planned and some by chance or “decisive moment”.
