I’m originally from Newton, NJ but have lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area – first in San Francisco, now the Fabulous East Bay.
I never quit my “day job” as a Data Architect, DBA or Data Engineer, but have always been a lover of the arts – Photography, Song Writing, Assemblage and Poetry / Limericks.
I play 6 and 12 string guitar, bass guitar, cello, mandolin, lap steel, piano, violin, dulcimer, lyre, theremin and kalimba. In the 80’s I played in many dive bars around the San Francisco Bay Area, my favorite was The Hotel Utah.
My playground used to be SOMA (before it was ruined by the 90’s “dot con”. I practically lived at Cafe Soma, where I had black and white photography shows at many Cafes, like Cafe Soma, Brainwash and the Meat Market Cafe. When San Francisco was taken over by tech Ceo’s and tech, it became too much of a good thing and so I left and have been in the East Bay since 1994.
I was into Assemblage from about 2007 until 2017. I had a few shows, but these days I just do music and art for the fun of it.
The songs on this site are meant to be “song ideas” – which are rough recordings of “sketches” of songs that I would bring to a band at rehearsal and then play together and mold into something much better. As of late January 2022, I’ve started to emphasize singing and writing for a vocalist. I can barely sing, but that’s fine, the idea is I would bring these songs into band practice and then see if they are accepted and collaborated on. In February 2022, I started writing notes about my process and feelings about each song.
My “imaginary puppet theatre” series is a way to do Assemblage and Still Life Photography. All of it is intended to celebrate Dada, which means its all meant to be nonsense.
I love writing lyrics and am an old punk at heart, but hopefully the “wicked humor” shows through.
