Thank God for Woody Guthrie
Posted on November 24, 2020

What I love so much about Woody Guthries’ lyrics is that he lays out the irony and dichotomy of what truth is in a way where you will be humming along with the great “Americana” sound – maybe even think its some patriotic song – and then you stop and say “Holy Shit” when you catch what he is saying.

Well, well, well, ol’ Fat Turkey Loser Trump just really, really lost the election. The GSA just released funds for Team Biden-Harris. Here is my celebration song:

Telluride

The most beautiful place
That I’ve ever seen
Is a part of heaven
Called Telluride
We drove from Mesa Verde
After a gorgeous hike
On hiway 1 – 4 – 5
The most beautiful pike
Chorus
Telluride
Always in my heart
Telluride
Always on my mind
We saw aspens aglow
Gold, crimson and copper
Along the way
To Telluride
When we arrived
We saw aspens in snow
I could have died
And that would have been alright

Thanksgiving will be full of thanks this year. Even with the pandemic – the promise of a vaccine looms large – and when I say loom – this time its a good thing!

Liberty Train
Posted on November 13, 2020

This year, more than any in my life, I’m thankful that while our democracy has been put to the test by a totally incompetent wannabe dictator, that he and his henchmen seem to have been foiled.
Liberty train
Broken chains
Smashed oppression
Freedom reigns
Deposed King
Deposed Queen
Clear the court
Of all the Jesters
New day waking
Fascism quaking
No more taken
Advantage of

Krampusnacht
Posted on November 11, 2020

Last year, I found this creepy AM radio station that plays Christmas music year round’ – its as if they are “place holding” the frequency. At the time I had an impressive home brewed directional phased antenna system (my Ham Radio callsign is KY6R) – because several stronger stations were on the same frequency.
Spoiled rotten children
Always want their way
When Father Krampus arrives
He’ll have the last say
Putting kids in gunny sacks
Takes them to his lair
This is what his warning is
Giving kids a scare
If you are a bad little boy
Who won’t abdicate your throne
Krampus, Karma, Evil Witch
Will smack you with his switch
Chorus
Krampusnacht is here
You children best behave
Krampus knows who’s naughty
He’ll put you in his cave

Harvest Time
Posted on November 8, 2020

It’s harvest time
The frost is on the pumpkin
We reap what we sow
We harvest the crops that grow
Its harvest time
We’ve smashed the Rotten Pumpkin
This year its nothing but treats
After 4 years of dirty tricks
Its harvest time
The Pumpkin has been smashed
Time to sit by the fire
We forced the Pumpkin to retire
Chorus
Smash the pumpkin
Smash the pumpkin
Smash the pumpkin
Smash the pumpkin

A PSALM OF THANKSGIVING
Posted on November 7, 2020

Like the Autumnal Winds – which blow the beautiful colored fall leaves off the trees, our American Democracy just withstood one of the worst 4 years in the history of our nation, but today that has all changed for the better.

Hope Satellite

Satellite of Hope in These Covid Times
Hope is all we have right now.
Round and round we go
Round the Planet we Glow
Sewing seeds of forgotten Hope
Helping those in need to cope
End the reign of divisiveness
Put our country to the test
Do what we do best
End this terror of selfishness
Evil loses in the end
Peace and Love around that bend
It can happen we can mend
To our gardens we must tend
Chorus
Bands of hope will circle the Globe
Filled with our newfound Hope
Filled with our new found Hope

I dedicate smashing the orange pumpkin with this pumpkin smashing machine. A nod to Woody Guthrie and his fascist killing machine!
