The days have a chill
That signals the end
Of Fall Color Foliage
My latest best friend
Thanksgiving's soon
So much to be thankful for
Rekindling love
Reunions Galore
Soon I will spy
Winter scenes
Subtle beauty
With my photographic eye

As Autumn Falls
So do Autumn leaves
We saw its peak
This past week
I could go on forever
But you already know
The magic involved
In Fall Color Glow
Stop me if
(You've heard this one before)
But Autumn rules!
Hey! Are you starting to Snore?

Just like Maine
The nearby woods
Burst into color
Delivered the Goods
As soon as it arrived
It was going away
The leaves start to drop
Such a short stay
Alas our Fall Leaf Peeping
Holiday will come to an end
T'was the best I can remember
Time so well spent
Our beautiful memories
Recorded forever
To always remember
Fall Color Treasures

Two trees
Go into a fern bar
One an Aspen,
The other a Pine
The bartender says,
"Can I see some ID?"
They show ID
Then order wine
There is no
Punchline
To this joke
No moral
To this story
Just enjoying Autumn's Pageantry
In Digital Technicolor Glory

Late this afternoon
Just before sunset
Just weeks before Daylight Savings Time
A glowing grove of aspens said "Hey, yeah you!"
To complicate the matter
A cold gentle rain slunk over the ridge
I grabbed my camera to seize the day
Phew! I couldn't move any faster
The rain closed in
I took my chance
The sky grew dark

Autumn's here
And won't last long
It's why I write
These simple songs
Best fall colors
In 40 years
West Coast has
That East Coast cheer
I moved out West
So long ago
Left Fall Colors,
Winter Snow
But once a year
I feel this urge
To see Fall colors
That pop and surge
My inspiration
Off the charts
I'm in heaven
With Autumn's Spark
Write verse and song
With Camera on
The leaves will fall
It won't be long
But heavens knows
In months to come
I'll remember
This Autumn Fun

One fall leaf
Can bring me to my knees
One fall leaf
Gives so much relief
One fall leaf
Erases my grief
One fall leaf
Is beyond belief
One fall leaf
Steals my heart like a thief

Quaking Aspens Speak
Yellow, Orange, Copper, Red
"Prepare for Winter"
Is what they said
Quaking Aspens Sail
Leaves like flying kites
They waved, winked and smiled
As they flew by
Quaking Aspens Are
Something to behold
Let's Rejoice!
As autumns beauty unfolds

The road to somewhere
Has no start or end
Wherever you go
There you are, my friend
The road to somewhere
Brings life's joy
If you let it!
Don't be coy
The road to somewhere
Gives us hope
That round the next Bend
A new Shady Cove
It’s Never Too Late
