I’ve been playing Cello for 1 1/2 weeks so far. I have my first lesson via Zoom on Monday, and my Niece is my teacher. Pardon the songs lately because I’m a rank beginner, but trying to write songs for Cello is a fabulous exercise. Even though I’m getting older, it’s like the new light of a new day – learning something new makes me feel much younger.
No matter how young or old
You can do whatever you want
If it comes from your soul
If it's from the heart
You will succeed
Jump right in and start
With a song on your lips
And a whistle in the wind
No one can sink your ship

Just when you think
There's no beauty
Left in the world
Look up, you'll be reassured
It's easy to miss
The beauty all around
When our eyes are focused
On the flat earth ground
You'd be surprised
What you'll see
When you step away
From your virtual reality

It's never too late
To extinguish hate
The fire that burns
Man never learns
But we must try
And never lose sight
Unchain our fears
Do what's right
Love conquers all
Or so they say
Let's give it a try
Start a new day

November
Blew in like a southwest train
Giving us hope and thanks
For much needed rain
Following October
With record rainfall
Maybe our drought
Won't be bad after all
Keep fingers crossed
This time of year
Our plants need the rain
Our water is dear
