Tribute to Ray Manzarek

Light My Fire
Stop me if you've heard this before
That famous song by The Doors
The lyrics are about lust
But the music is so much more

Time and space The Doors did bend
Ray Manzarek music legend
Classical, Jazz, and Rock
All genres were his friend

A Minor was the Key
The key then changed amazingly
Ray led the band on this song
The rest is now history

The Haunted Organ

In the basement
I hear music
No one's down there
I hear noise

Someone's singing
More like moaning
Like a banshee
High pitched voice

Descend the staircase
Turn on the light
The sound has stopped now
Nothing in sight

This was fun – I pulled out all the stops this year because I am so relieved (and eternally thankful) that we are healing from last year with its Smoke, Pandemic, Trump / Politics, Power Outages due to Fire Danger – have I left anything out?

Now lets pray for rain. I expect to do one Thanksgiving / Christmas set and photo shoot – but my thing is Harvest Festival and Halloween – and Thanksgiving – which is a Harvest Festival. I’m a Pagan I think . . . .

Imperial Pumpkin Ale

Excellent Label Art

A few years back I found what I think is the best pumpkin ale – it was by Almanac Brewing in Alameda, California. They don’t seem to brew it anymore. Smashed Pumpkin by Shipyard is Pretty decent – solid. I’ve never had one that blew me away, but I seriously doubt this style will (like Simtra Triple IPA or an Imperial Stout does like Sierra Nevada Narwhal or Alesmith Speedway Stout does.

I grew up near Easton, PA

Yet each year I look to see if something interesting awaits me at “Church” (Bevmo or Moraga Liquors).

Today I set the Imaginary Puppet Theatre stage for the 6th of 6 in 6 week episodes and photo shoots. This I have affectionately called “The Halloween 666 Series”. It looks awesome. I can’t wait to shoot and post it.

Hey! I’ll do it Sunday.

Size Matters!

These Days, Size Matters More Than Ever

Ah yes. Size. Common Sense. Yankee Ingenuity. These are things that even the less intelligent and less educated in the USA had up until some time in the last quarter century. And especially with our newfound Idiocracy. Oh well – sometimes “our freedoms” lead to Natural Selection and Darwin Awards. Nothing you can do about it. People have to learn the hard way. Some don’t.

Today’s song is my attempt at just Lap Steel and piano/synth-organ. I’m still a beginner at Lap Steel.

Now, the brain in the photo might be prominently featured in tomorrow’s Halloween 666 Special #5. The title will be killer. Stay tuned.

Happy Entrails

I’ll paint the big top stripes on next

This weekends Halloween 666 Special #5 will be by far the most macabre of the series, but it will also be the funniest.

Design Drawing

I’m in my own virtual world, but unlike Online virtual world’s, mine has power tools and paint.

El Triciclo Del Diablo

Look Ma, No Hands!

Another simple song, just guitar and Farfisa organ.

ARP Solina String Ensemble

ARP Solina

Today’s song is simple, guitar, Solina synth organ and piano. The Solina is a vintage synth, but I love its hauntingly beautiful sound.

I use the Arturia VST soft synth patches.
