The old conductor ghost
Of a coastal train
Last train's voyage derailed
Its brakes failed
High above the sea
Where railroad crossed the highway
Down into the Pacific
That train was once prolific
Across the Bixby Bridge
The ghost swings his lantern
Staring at the sea
His new bride lies peacefully
He was the lone survivor
His lonely darkness grew
Overcome with grief
Off that bridge he leaped
